HZT Week 1

So welcome to week one of HZT. Hero, Zero, Tech of the week. This will be my first attempt at this so lets start off with some near and dear to my heart.

Hero of the Week:

So often we have decisions made by others that do not allow us any say or recourse. We are not happy with the change but lack the platform required to let those responsible know exactly how we feel.

Well that can not be said for Rhonda Pearson. A Arizona Coyote Fan who was unhappy with the recent ruling by her mayor and city council and took advantage of a meeting to let them all know EXACTLY how she feels.

Coyote Fan goes off on Mayor

Now you might think to yourself,
"really? That's your first hero"
And I say yes it is. Now a days we so rarely get the chance to speak our minds directly to the people responsible. And many more choose not to, if they ever find themselves in a position to.

So yes, I say she is a hero because she stepped up, said what she wanted to say, said it with out diminishing her opinion or statement, without vulgarity, and was more then passionate about what she wanted to say.

If more people stepped up and challenged those making wrong decisions, I think our world would be a better place. This was about Hockey and a stadium, but the principle can be applied to any host of topics and issues.

Zero of the Week:

So I doubt this will be this persons only appearance here but this issue and his dishonest and outright corrupt behavior lands him as the first Zero of the Week for me.

Thomas Mulcaire, Leader of the federal NDP. Leader of the opposition (though honestly he allows Justin Trudeau to behave more like official opposition if we being honest here)

Mulcaire lands this spot for TWO reasons this week, both are corrupt and dishonest as you come.

Part 1: If you turned on a radio, watched a TV, read a newspaper this past week you have heard Mulcaire yammering away about how he would abolish the senate if elected. Hes playing on the common dissatisfaction with the Senate that people through out Canada have with it. And thats all fine and good.

The problem I have with Mulcaire and what he is saying is he knows hes lieing to everyone. Its political spin and double talk. He knows he can't just get elected and abolish the senate as he says daily. The senate is tied to the Constitution and REQUIRES FULL AGREEMENT BY ALL PROVINCES to change. Quebec and PEI have both said outright they will vote "NO".

So it doesnt matter who is Prime Minister, they can not abolish the senate because the provinces do not agree and will not participate in doing so.

That's the end of topic. there is nothing else to be said on issue.
Electing Thomas Mulcaire doesn't magically change the reality of the situation
but if you watch, listen, read any press clipping by Mulcaire, he point blank claims he will abolish the senate if elected. ITS A LIE.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper tried to abolish the senate when he was first elected and this is what he found out. You can not do it with out opening up the constitution (as its constitutional reform) and you require 100% agreement and participation from the provinces.

But Mulcaire knows this, he was sitting in House of Commons as this whole thing played out last time. He KNOWS he can not abolish the senate and yet lies to the people every single time he speaks on the topic, telling them otherwise.

I have long maintained that campaign promises by political figures should be tied to perjury laws and campaigning on a issue you know you can not deliver on should be criminally WORSE then lieing in court.

Thomas Mulcaire is opening lieing to anyone that will listen to him to gain votes.
It is corrupt, dishonest, and unbecoming behavior of ANY elected official in this country, much less one that is running for our highest position in the country.

If hes willing to lie on this issue to gain power, what else is he willing to lie, cheat, steal on to gain power?
How much power will be enough?

Speaking of lieing, cheating, stealing, welcome to part 2 of his Zero award.
This one is pretty straight forward and has ALREADY been ruled on as submitting fraudulent campaign expense charges that hes being forced to pay back.

Didn't hear about this?
Yeah the main stream media has been pretty good at hiding this issue.
I didn't even know about it until he got called out in House of Commons because he was screaming about Mike Duffy and his $90.000 of fraudulent expense claims (that have been paid back and Duffy currently in court on criminal charges over it)  forcing CTV to finally spend some time on the issue.

Last election the NDP have been found guilty of over 3 million dollars in fraudulent expense claims and transfers.
Thomas Mulcaire himself tallied over $400,000 of those fraudulent expenses

But worse of all is instead of cooperating when caught hes insisted that this whole thing is just the mean ol conservatives and liberals working together to hold him down because of polling numbers.

Well Auditor General disagrees and has instructed the money be recovered by not paying out future expense claims to those guilty.

Frankly I'm just sick of all this fraudulent expense claim crap and want them all in jail. Regardless of political colors or party.
If you're caught with hands in the cookie jar, YOU GO TO JAIL!

And while I am no fan of Mike Duffy I really gotta wonder why $90,000 lands him in criminal court but $400,000 doesn't land Mulcaire in criminal court.

Maybe the main stream media will report on that to explain it.
naaaa who am I kidding.

For Shame mister Mulcaire, For shame
But don't worry, your supporters will not bother reading or believing any of this so you're safe.
The mindless minions will continue to support you.

Tech of the Week

It was a hard one to choose this week as two very worthy articles / videos came out.
And I'll probable use the #2 one for next weeks tech award anyways.

But ultimately this one is a game changer in the realm of entertainment and puts us on the brink of a new technological age.

WELCOME VIRTUAL REALITY

Oculus Rift Presentation

This is such a game changer in the realm of entertainment bringing previous science fiction fantasies into reality.

If you do not know what Oculus Rift and VR are, I strongly suggest you google and search and explore its amazing options and advancements.

Years ago I almost spent $1000.00 on I/O goggles

This makes those look like a tricycle on training wheels compared to this high end motorcycle

Mark this day in time as it is an important moment in mankinds history.

This is just the starter that opens up a whole new limitless future.
